Synopsis

As a cold front currently over the northern Gulf of Mexico drifts towards the northwest Caribbean an increase in winds and seas is expected overnight. Fresh to strong northerly winds and rough seas impacting northern and western coasts are expected by tomorrow afternoon. A Small Craft Advisory will be issued Monday morning, and be upgraded to a Small Craft Alert by the evening. A Strong Wind Advisory will be issued from Monday afternoon. Satellite imagery shows patchy cloud over the northwest Caribbean.


Forecast

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies with a 30% chance of showers towards early morning. Temperatures will fall to the mid 70’s °F. Winds will be north at 10 to 15 knots. Seas will be moderate with wave heights of 3 to 5 feet overnight.

Tomorrow: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a 30% chance of showers. Temperatures will rise to the low 80’s °F. Winds will be north to northwest at 10 to 15 knots with higher gusts becoming 20 to 25 knots by the afternoon. Seas will be moderate to rough with wave heights of 4 to 6 feet, becoming rough at 7 to 9 feet by the evening. A Small Craft Advisory will be issued Monday morning, and be upgraded to a Small Craft Alert by the evening. A Strong Wind Advisory will be issued from Monday afternoon.

Fresh to strong northeasterly winds and rough seas impacting mostly northern and eastern coasts by Tuesday with a very gradual decrease in these conditions through the evening. The Small Craft Alert is expected to be in place through Wednesday.
